Hello Jes,

Instead of the internet, you should check out some books, which give you the answer you're looking for.  Wink

Yes, the 'He 170' (actually, the He 70K) was used operationally against the Soviets in 1941. A book of mine, to be published in a month, will detail the day-by-day account of the MKHL on the Eastern Front in June-July 1941, including the activity of the He 70K.

Here is the aircraft type sheet, excerpt from another book of mine, under work:

AIRCRAFT SPECIFICATION

Aerodynamically very clean, and with a retracting undercarriage, in April 1933 the first prototype (He 70a) attained top speed of 377 km/hour, faster than any of existing fighters at that time. He 70c began the first military version. In 1937 appeared He 170 (70K), in German documents also recorded as ‘He 70 Ungarn’, export version fitted with a radial engine, delivered to Hungary between September 1937 and February 1938. Retired from first-line MKHL service in 1942.

Type:                              long-range reconnaissance plane

Climbing rate:      4530 m in 2.5 min.

Note: for its time a very modern airplane of all-metal construction (structural parts made of light Duraluminium, while the metal skin of Aluminium and Magnesium alloy), retractable undercarriage and revolutionary clean aerodynamic lines, including elliptically shaped wings. The He 70 set up new standards in aerodynamic constructions.

I hope this helps.

Hello Denes

Thanks for the reply, I have the book Hungarian eagles, but not much in that, and also Hans Werner Neulen does not mention He-70K.

About your new book is it possible to buy direct from you ??
